By adding up the memory usage of all the open tabs and windows you will realize how easy it is to burden the machine. But it is clear that there is not only Google Chrome. To understand what is keeping your computer busy and making it slow on Windows you can use Task Manager.

It is an excellent tool that allows you to monitor the performance of all the internal components of the computer and therefore understand if there is something wrong. To open Task Manager, simply use the keyboard to compose the sequence CTRL+SHIFT+ESC. The new Windows 11 has its own new philosophy for this tool, which is called in the same way but hides the information under the Details heading.

But what do you find in front of you if you open Task Manager? A series of tabs that help you understand which resources are allocated to each open process. For example, if you have a few apps running but the CPU is used at 100%, it is very likely that you have inadvertently paved the way for a virus or malware that is making your computer work overtime under the table.

In these cases the first thing to do is to examine the processes that seem to have no reason to exist. Once you have identified them you can run a thorough antivirus scan and then check again that they are indeed gone.
