After Xiaomi and Samsung it is OnePlus’ turn to complete preparations for the OnePlus 12 and 12R. Among the new features is also a surprising price.

One, two, three… boom. Xiaomi thought of lighting up the explosions at the beginning of the year, presenting the Redmi Note 13 series on January 4th, trying to overshadow one of the biggest events of the whole of 2024, the highly anticipated Samsung Unpacked. Highly anticipated for a series of reasons, including surprising ones.

Yes, because everyone was waiting for the South Korean response to Google (with its Pixel 8 and 8 Pro), the first to launch the challenge of features derived from generative Artificial Intelligence, for the first time on the Galaxy S24, which are already available for pre-order -orders and will be distributed on January 31st.

They even cost less than their predecessors, except the Ultra with a stellar camera, whose price was increased by $100 compared to its little brother from last year. Now it’s the turn of a Chinese brand on the rise, already on the podium (Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi) but not that far away. The Unpacked for the OnePlus 12 and 12 R has been announced and with it came a leak that reveals a lot, including its price.

OnePlus 12 and 12R: from the AMOLED Super Fluid display to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, passing through its price

Albeit with small doses of pills, OnePlus was quick to give some previews of the new babies, OnePlus 12 and 12R, with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 24 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage space, a huge 5,400 mAh battery and an IP65 rating. Now we know a little more.

6.82-inch QHD+ (3168×1440) Super Fluid LTPO AMOLED display from 1 Hz to 120 Hz with peak brightness of 4,500 nits, 64.3 x 75.8 x 9.15 mm dimensions, 220 grams weight. The OnePlus 12 and 12 R charge at 100W or 50W wirelessly, with a compatible charger, while the camera system, included in a design not dissimilar to the OnePlus 11, borrows largely from its first foldable, the OnePlus Open.

Two colors ensure the TechPuls leaks, Silky Black and Flowy Emerald. The standard version (12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage space) is thought to cost around 800 dollars, rising to 900 for the one with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. If these advances are true, it is a substantial increase of 100 dollars compared to their predecessors, which would bring their price in Italy to 949 and 1,019 euros, or so. Unpacked will take place on January 23 at 3 CET and will be visible on the Chinese brand’s website.
