Zero 01 Festival Builds New Worlds in San Jose

This September, San Jose was a city-wide platform for this year's Zero 01 Biennial -- a four day event of art, performance and innovation.

From September 16-19, the 2010 Zero 01 Biennial invited the community to "build your own world." The event, sponsored by the Knight Foundation, hosted hundreds of artworks in response to their call. They turned City Hall into a video game and South First Street into a carnival of creativity. De-Bug community members were on the scene, partaking in the newly imagined universe. They rapped over homemade beats, wrote about their lives on giant planks of wood, and projected videos on the walls. And in this new universe, everyone was a star.
