Art is a discipline that has the ability to develop and grow in literary, visual, dance, or theatrical forms. Through art, the artist as well as the audience live a unique experience that is emotional, intellectual, aesthetic, or a combinations of all these. Promoting art is an important task for everyone, for art is what identifies us and touches all social groups regardless of race, language, religion, or gender. Art is also what rescues our roots and traditions that is the future of new generations.

All of this cultural diffusion would not be possible without art and cultural groups. With the aim of promoting Latino talent comes True Art Productions (TrAP), an organization that began on March 28, 2009, composing of six talented artists: Arturo Arte Delgado, known as “Arte,” a writer, musician, and actor; Alejandro Downs, who specializes in painting; Claudia Guzman, who specializes in public relations and marketing and is also a writer; Damaris Erendida, a theater actress and professional dancer; Leicester Josue Huezo, known as “Ele,” a professional photographer; and lastly, Juliet Gomez, a professional classical and modern dancer and teacher, with a masters in Linguistics who is also an accomplished radio host.

"True Art Productions was born out of a group of Latino artists who felt the need to disseminate Latino talents in art. There are Anglo-Saxon, Asian and other art centers, but we did not see an alternative one that is purely Latin. This is why we formed our group whose mission is to support the artist in all contexts and remind him or her to not forget the richness of our culture," explained Arturo Arte, founder of TrAP, in an interview with La Oferta.

True Art Productions organizes all their events with their own funds and donations from the public. “To enjoy the beauty of art through the eyes of an artist is priceless. Our group takes care of most of the funding ourselves but there are still small expenses to be made. With the help of the donations gathered from every event, we support artists so they can continue to develop their craft,” Arturo says.

“TrAP knows that there are many undiscovered Latino/Latina artists and we make it our mission to help guide them in how to work within their medium. TrAP, whose slogan is to 'Make It Happen' because 'Everything is Possible', gives these future artists the opportunity to step onto the stage and show them how it is to work with a professional group that will support them in any way possible to highlight their art," said Damaris, TrAP’s theater actress.

“Everyone who's interested in entering the arts goes through a test — a test that helps people realize their own qualities as a singer, a poet, writer or dancer, etc. Based on this, TrAP determines the growth the individual has had through his experience. We help novice artists who have never been on stage, people with experience but who have not developed because of economic setbacks. Our mission is clear: We want to form the professional artist because we love art and we want to share it. There are lots of Latin American talent and we should take good care of them for the future,” said Arturo Delgado, who has just finished his book of poetry, “Secret of a Poet”.

True Art Productions performs throughout the Bay Area. Recently they had a successful show at Mission City Coffee in Santa Clara entitled "Noches Bohemias" (Bohemian Nights), where future artists were able to feature their artwork, poetry, acting, music, instrumental work, and others.

“The opportunity that TrAP offers to Latino artists is unique. We are well-rounded in our mix of artistic talents, and we wish to expand our programs so that artists can have the room to grow in their own field. Through art, everyone has the ability to learn more about who they are. It liberates you from stress; you learn more about other cultures, and in the process, art brings us closer to our roots and helps us walk a straight and healthy path. We are all artists, and through TrAP, people are able to find themselves. We invite you into our dream because everything is possible," concluded Damaris Erendida.
