Silicon Valley De-Bug

Silicon Valley De-Bug, a New America Media Youth Communication Team partner, is a platform for the unheard voices of Silicon Valley – youth, immigrants, low-wage workers, the formerly incarcerated, homeless, and other communities who make up San Jose’s diverse cultural landscape. For nine years, Silicon Valley De-Bug has produced an award winning bi-lingual magazine, a weekly radio show, a weekly television show, and a multi-media website through these voices and experiences to bring a more representative and inclusive San Jose to the public discourse. In order to cultivate youth communications, De-Bug runs regular media workshops in schools and youth centers in the San Jose area. De-Bug’s media and youth development work has also lead the organization to initiate and lead campaigns in the city for law enforcement accountability, labor and workplace protections, and the rights of immigrants.
