Allianza Metropolitan News

Alianza News

Founded in 1986, Alianza Metropolitan News is a bilingual (Spanish/English) community newspaper that provides insightful news and practical information to its Hispanic readers in San Jose and the South Bay areas. Its bilingual website (alianzanews.com) was launched four years ago.  Alianza believes reaching younger Latino generations, who tend to be English fluent and Internet savvy, is as important as serving the Spanish-speaking group.

Alianza takes pride in its strong editorial position and news content with five local reporters and two columnists. It covers news -- at all levels from local, state to national -- with topics ranging from education, politics, immigration, health, to sports and entertainment as these related to the Latino community as well as Latinos issues around the world. For Alianza, it is imperative that its readers stay well informed and participate in civic activities. For its news coverage in the last past 5 years, Alianza News was recognized with 19 awards for excellence in journalism from the National Association of Hispanic Publishers:
